Welcome to scrawnyWOD. What you can expect from this blog is a lot of geeking out on all things CrossFit, Paleo, training, recovery, nutrition and health.

My name is Larry and I am a CrossFit Level 1certified trainer at CrossFit Delaware Valley, a certified holistic health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and a Level 1 BioSignature Practitioner. I have been CrossFitting on and off since late 2005. I live just outside of Philadelphia, PA with my wife Kara and our high-maintenance but lovable pit bull, Tippy. I took an interest in health and alternative medicine from an early age as I watched both my Dad and Aunt develop type-2 diabetes in adulthood from eating lots and lots of junk.

Around the summer of 2007, I started switching over to a more Paleo lifestyle and I noticed that I felt a lot better and looked a lot leaner when I eliminated certain foods. Through some tinkering and a lot of self-experiments, I've found which foods work best for me and which to avoid. I don't think Paleo is a panacea, but it's a great template to start from.

I started this blog to track both my strength gains and to see if it's possible to gain weight on a Paleo diet. I hope you find it useful and entertaining.
